Good evening folks! I hope those of you that had the day off enjoyed yourselves! I am writing you from outside of a frigid GameStop waiting for the midnight release of Call of Duty : Black Ops II. Last night I picked up some Garden of Eatin’ for my all night Netflix binge that ended up turning into about 20 minutes before I was out cold. I didn’t even get to break into these!
I enjoy chips and salsa quite a bit. I often use the cup holder in my car as a salsa holder more than an actual cup holder. For some reason when it comes to tortilla chips, there is no limit to the amount I can consume. These chips are not new to the market, but I hadn’t been introduced to them until last week, and even then I only sampled a single chip, not nearly enough to form an opinion.
This afternoon I decided to start over watching the seasons of Grey’s Anatomy, and broke open this bag as an afternoon snack. I was greeted with the strong aroma of spices. Upon tasting them for the first time (I’m not counting the single chip last week) I was quite impressed. I thought that because the flavoring was sprinkled on the outside of the chip that the flavor would be inconsistent, but there was more than enough to go around. I would however not recommend eating these with chapped lips or anywhere where there is a light source because they don’t look all that appetizing in the light.
Had to use the flash in the batcave, making these look extra gross.
Texture: 4/5 – These have a very nice crunch. Despite the extreme amount of spices, they are not overly gritty.
Smell: 4/5 – after opening the bag you can immediately smell the heat coming off these chips.
Appearance: 2/5 – Eat these chips in the dark, they are way more appealing that way.
Taste: 4/5 – These tortilla chips are delicious on their own, no need to invite salsa to the party. They are not immediately hot right out of the bag but the flavor builds the more you eat, until you turn into a fire breathing dragon.
